SatThe Dis Arrange programme at CTM 2014 celebrates cross-genre, confrontational, and finger-on-the-pulse configurations of dance music, from the abstract, refractory collages of enigmatic producer and recent Warp signee patten to the raw force and forward dynamism of Chicago rapper Sasha Go Hard, the confluence of virtual and real-world political realities in the work of Fade To Mind artist Fatima Al Qadiri, and the future bass and disoriented pop culture manifestations of recent PAN signee M.E.S.H. and Berlin Current artist Lotic.
M.E.S.H.[DE/US]
The anodyne opulence of M.E.S.H. falls somewhere between hard dance and underground club music, and is characterized by deep bass and breakbeats, and double-process synthetic sheen.
Fatima Al Qadiri[US]
The formidable artist, musician, and composer Fatima Al Qadiri was born in Senegal, raised in Kuwait, and is now based in New York. Her work pivots around the politicized axes of gender, consumerism, military action, and religion.
patten[UK]
It is fitting that Londoner patten’s own conceptual imprint is called Kaleidoscope; his own productions shift and refract light in similar ways to the instrument, cycling through series of patterns and never settling the same way twice.
Sasha Go Hard[US]
Earning the Go Hard characterization and mandate of her moniker with the raw force of her delivery in one of her first studio sessions, 21-year-old South Side Sasha Go Hard is one of the first female rappers from the Chicago drill scene to gain international traction.
