“Emotions in form: How design of musical objects embodies memory and feeling” panel with Ārash Āzādi, Simonne Jones, Steinunn Arnardottir, Johannes Schroth. Moderated by Peter Kirn.

Inside the bubble of music technology practitioners, we can easily get lost in technical details, divorcing electronic instruments from how they’re used and why. This panel tries to find a new discourse by shining light onto the emotions that drive electronic musical instruments’ creation and performance.

The conversation bridges art making and design and engineering, with a diverse set of speakers with backgrounds in industrial design, DSP, performance and composition. Together, the panelists will share their insights into the experiences and emotions connected to creating and playing instruments.

Presented with Native Instruments and SHAPE, which is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
