Opium Hum
Opium Hum, aka Michail Stangl, builds his DJ sets using sombre, hazy drones and fantastical soundscapes permeated by deep and shifting rhythms, creating what can only be called a waking dream.
In Berlin, Stangl found a home for his oversized interests in adventurous electronic music. After moving to the capital from a small German town, it wasn’t long before he got his hands dirty behind the scenes—first at a string of underground venues before joining the team behind the quarterly Leisure System parties at Berghain, as well as initiating Berghain’s ≠ (not equal) series. He’s also a major player in Boiler Room’s Berlin.
