Roscoe Mitchell and George E. Lewis in conversation with Daniel Spicer
Hosted by The Wire

In this artist talk, which directly follows George E. Lewis’s lecture about machine subjectivities in interactive music, Lewis and collaborator Roscoe Mitchell will speak with The Wire writer Daniel Spicer. Both Lewis and Mitchell are two of the most prominent names in American experimental music and are both long-term members of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians. They will discuss the history of their individual and collaborative activities as performers, composers, activists, and scholars, and reflect on their February 2nd CTM performance with Voyager, Lewis’s improvising AI system.
