WedBest Practices is a presentation and workshop that takes a systematic look at a proactive approach to the different strategies we can employ to address misogyny in music culture. What works for each method? What are the drawbacks?
The audience will be invited to comment, critique, and contribute. Topics will include, but are not limited to: call-out culture, representation, allies, safe spaces, and intersectionality.
Matthias Haenisch[DE]
Matthias Haenisch is a research associate of the research group “MuBiTec – Music learning with mobile technologies” (University of Cologne, Berlin University of the Arts, University of Erfurt, University of Lübeck; promoted by the Federal Ministry of Education and Science), where his research concerns, among other things, questions of socialization, subjectification and aesthetic experience in postdigital communities.
Lisa Blanning[US/DE]
Lisa Blanning is an American writer and editor on music, art and culture. She is a former editor at The Wire Magazine in London and Electronic Beats in Berlin—the city she currently operates out of. She is especially engaged in movements in contemporary electronic music and digital art and culture.
Dahlia Borsche[DE]
Dahlia Borsche is musicologist and curator. In 2019 she took on the position of Head of Music at the DAAD Artist-In-Berlin programme.
