2017 saw the release of They, via D-force Records Beijing. The release leans on experiments in synthesis – at times delicate, as in “They Blossom” – and at others foreboding, as in “They Pray (take 7)”. GOOOOOSE has self-released tracks such as the meandering “sea-changes” and the sputtering and angular “probing object no.2999”. As an artist, GOOOOOSE’s interests and influences are wide-ranging; his music evidences hints of breakbeat, IDM, ambient, and more, while his internet presence showcases explorations in generative sound and image.

In 2014, GOOOOOSE and 33EMYBW started The Centaurs, a series of events promoting left-field electronic music in Shanghai. In 2017, The Centaurs started hosting workshops in music production, modular synthesis and DIY software and hardware instruments. The primary goal of The Centaurs is to support, participate in, and enable China’s growing community of open-minded musicians and artists working with sound in live performance and real-time audiovisual work.
